Definitions & Scope

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the rental of motor vehicles by Rent A Car International SHPK (NUIS: M32223044Q), registered in Albania, to any individual or legal entity ("Renter") who makes a reservation through our website rentacarprishtina-tirana.com or any affiliated platform.

By completing a reservation — whether online, by phone, or in person — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms in their entirety.

Reservation & Payment

A reservation is confirmed only upon receipt of a confirmation email or reference number from Rent A Car International. The total rental price includes:

• Base daily rental rate for the selected vehicle category
• Any optional extra equipment selected at time of booking
• Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) if selected
• Additional location fees (airport pick-up/drop-off)
• VAT at the applicable Albanian rate (20%)

Payment may be made by credit/debit card (Visa, Mastercard) via our secure online gateway, or in cash at the time of vehicle collection. Partial payments are accepted as deposits; the remaining balance is due at the latest upon vehicle collection.

Online Payments

Online card payments are processed securely through RaiAccept, the e-commerce payment solution of Raiffeisen Bank Albania, in compliance with PCI-DSS and PSD2 standards. Rent A Car International does not store any card data.

• Accepted cards: Visa and Mastercard
• Currency: Albanian Lek (ALL) or Euro (EUR) as displayed at checkout
• Transactions are secured with 3-D Secure (3DS) authentication
• A payment confirmation will be sent to your email address upon successful transaction

If an online payment fails or is declined, your reservation will remain in pending status. Please contact us directly to resolve any payment issues.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

We understand that plans change. Our cancellation policy is as follows:

• More than 48 hours before pick-up: Full refund of any online deposit paid.
• 24–48 hours before pick-up: 50% of the deposit is refunded.
• Less than 24 hours before pick-up: No refund of the deposit.
• No-show: The full reservation amount is charged.

Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank. To cancel a reservation, contact us at [email protected] or by phone.

Driver Requirements

• The renter must be at least 21 years of age and hold a valid driving licence for a minimum of 1 year
• A valid government-issued ID (passport or national ID) must be presented at collection
• The driving licence presented must match the name on the reservation
• Additional drivers must be declared at the time of booking and present a valid licence at collection
• Driving licences issued outside the EU/EEA must be accompanied by an International Driving Permit

Vehicle Use

The rented vehicle may only be used:

• On public roads within Albania and Kosovo
• By the named renter and any declared additional drivers
• In accordance with all applicable traffic laws and regulations

The following uses are strictly prohibited and will void any insurance coverage:

• Off-road driving or use on unpaved surfaces not suitable for the vehicle
• Transporting goods for commercial gain
• Sub-renting the vehicle to any third party
• Driving under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or any impairing substance
• Participating in any race, rally, or speed test

Damage & Insurance

A Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is available at an additional daily rate and reduces the renter's financial liability in the event of accidental damage. The excess (franchise) amount varies by vehicle category and will be communicated at the time of booking.

Any damage — regardless of fault — must be reported to Rent A Car International immediately and a police report obtained where required. Failure to report damage may result in the renter being held fully liable.

Fuel Policy

Vehicles are provided with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel than provided, a refuelling charge will be applied based on current fuel prices plus a service fee.

Limitation of Liability

Rent A Car International shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the rented vehicle, including but not limited to loss of income, business interruption, or personal injury beyond the statutory minimum required by Albanian law.

The renter is solely responsible for any traffic fines, toll charges, parking penalties, or other violations incurred during the rental period.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Albania. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tirana, Albania.
